J G Tree Stump Removal
Who are we?
JG Tree Stup Removal, based in
Bury, North Manchester. A specialist tree stump removal company
using the most up to date machinery called stump grinders.
What do we do?
We specialise in tree stump removal
for the commercial and domestic market.
How does it work?
The stump grinder teeth revolve
at high speed and are moved from side to side along the tree
stump chipping away at the stump inch by inch grinding either
the whole stump or just the top section of the stump away.
Why have tree stumps ground
out?
There are many reasons for having
the tree stumps removed, many people think that after the tree
has been felled the stump will naturally die but in most cases
this is not true, there are a number of tree species that will
continue to grow even after they have been felled to ground
level creating a nuisance for the owner, other reasons include
trip hazards as they sit just above ground level, honey fungus
which can spread disease to other trees and plants is also a
big reason, chemical treatment is slow to work or takes too
long, most commonly the area where the stump is, simply wants
replanting, block paving, turfing or building works etc as soon
as possible.
Is it not just as easy to dig
the stump out?
In some cases yes, providing the
circumstances are right, but digging stumps out can cause a
lot more ground disturbance and a lot more work! Not to mention
what to do with the stumps afterwards, by grinding the stumps
out the mulch that is created can be filled back into the hole
or used around the garden / site.
Will the tree regrow?
Usually any stump we grind is destroyed
completly. There are one or two exceptions that you may get
the odd shoot from a piece of root but even these can be easily
managed with advice from us. In either case the area can be
utilised for that all important project.
Is there any mess left?
JG Stump Removal are always committed
to customer satisfaction, therefore we pride ourselves on a
tidy job, leaving the site clean and tidy after the grinding
operation, to enable us to cause minimal mess we use shields,
boarding and sheeting to prevent chippings going to unwanted
places.
What if I don't want the mulch
created?
If you tell us before the grinding
takes place we can usually take it away with minimum extra cost.
I only have narrow access is
that a problem?
Usually not as the stump grinder
is only 35 inches wide allowing it to gain access through most
garden gates, if the access is too narrow an alternative route
is usually easily found via neighbouring properties.
Will you come first to assess
the work?
Yes, we usually call first to allow
us to see the work ahead of the operations, this allows us to
measure up for access, see if there are any obstacles in the
way, or if we need any extra equipment or tools that may help
the job run smoothly on the day!
How much does it cost?
Each job will cost different amounts;
this depends on the size of the stump, how many stumps there
are and how tall the stumps are. All quotes are free with 'no
obligation' and can be given in writing.
Who do we work for?
Various people ask for our services
including: Domestic customers, Tree Surgeons, Utility companies,
Golf clubs, Landscape contractors, Fencing contractors, Driveway
companies and Local councils.

the North West, please contact us for further information.
Honey Fungus
Honey Fungus is a parasitic fungus
that affects roots, trunks and dead or damaged trees and plants.
It is natures way of decaying dead or fallen trees, but in the
wrong place can start to affect other trees and plants that
you may wish to preserve, to stop the spread of Honey Fungus
in your garden or on your land it is usually best to remove
any affected wood and grind the affected stumps out.
